Ian Stout, Master’s Level Clinical Intern

“If you give people safety, they will grow.” – Carl Rodgers

Ian is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. He was inspired to become a mental health counselor with hopes of partnering with each person in the therapeutic process of growth, while using clinical tools to empower them live well.

Ian is a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, is Sacred Trust Certified, and has completed introductory courses from The Institute for Sexual Wholeness. He approaches treatment utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as his primary treatment model, as it is effective in helping people identify unhelpful patterns, negative thoughts, and/or actions, and learning to change those patterns.

With Ian, clients will experience a setting where they are safe to explore the challenges they are facing. He will partner with each person on their goals, assessing what’s valued most, and aligning the treatment plan to fit each client’s needs. Motivated by his wonderful wife Sarah, in his spare time, Ian enjoys cycling, playing basketball, and traveling.

Ian Stout, Master’s Level Clinical Intern, is under the clinical supervision of Eric Kuessner, LCSW-C (#22502).
