“Challenges are not barriers to growth; they are opportunities to discover strength you did not know you had.”
Jayik’quille “Jay” Mabry-Evans graduated from Morgan State University with a Master’s degree in Social Work. He was motivated to become a mental health counselor because of the emotional, relational, and systemic barriers that vulnerable individuals often face. Through his various life experiences, Jay’s understanding of trauma, resilience, and the impact of supportive relationships has deepened, ultimately inspiring him to pursue a career where he can empower individuals, advocate for underserved populations, and help foster meaningful, lasting change.
Jay specializes in using evidence-based interventions, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He approaches treatment with the goal of helping clients identify maladaptive thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward meaningful behavioral change.
Clients will experience empathy, understanding, and validation during treatment with Jay. Inspired by his family, his goal is for clients to feel supported in a way that fosters trust, self-awareness, and empowerment, while gaining insight, coping skills, and confidence to navigate challenges both inside and outside of therapy.
Jayik’quille Mabry-Evans, LMSW, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#33727) and under the clinical supervision of Margaret Kazmierski, LCSW-C (#12506).
